Kuwait, April 22, 2020:
A report issued by the Kuwait Society for Human Rights recommended organizing media strategies for the work of all media with various specializations, which included, at its core, respect for human rights in general and women in particular.
The report stated that there is a necessity to assign workers to the importance of dealing with women's issues in a non-seasonal manner, and the multiplicity in choosing issues and central figures to reach the largest possible number of women and bring them to society.
While this report advised the tweeters to continue displaying women's activities and positive contributions to society with a focus on using non-discriminatory terms and adopting a series of tweets about publicizing women's activities and supporting women's issues, it also advised them to pay attention to the type of images that they share in these tweets so that they do not transform the focus of the tweet and its goal to discuss the image and neglect the core and purpose of the case.
Khaled Al-Ajmi, Chairman of the Kuwait Society for Human Rights, said that the report is a sub-activity of an integration project to promote gender equality in Kuwaiti society, which is being implemented by the Kuwait Society for Human Rights in cooperation with the Middle East Partnership Initiative.
Referring to the report which monitors the stereotype of women presented in local media, suggesting notes about media performance, and monitors the latest developments in the women's rights file in Kuwait.
The release of the report comes as a monitoring of media performance in the first quarter of 2020 as it focused on the issue of gender equality, as the period witnessed a re-discussion of the issue of gender equality in health guardianship, and the coincidence of the International Women's Day with its use of equality as a slogan, in addition to Corona virus pandemic and the presence of women in health care beside men, all of these points led to the emergence of speeches that encourage gender equality in all work fields.
